Welcome from the Wales Branch Convenor
 

Hello! My name is Katrina Henderson and I am the new covenor of the Welsh branch of the EAUC. We have come along way from the formation of the Welsh branch which I seem to remember was at breakfast following a rather late night Cielh at the Birmingham conference!  In the early days it was really a gathering of friends sharing problems and ideas, we have now grown into a really professional group with representation across all the Welsh Universities and a significant number of FE colleges.  

I would like the Wales Branch group to return partly to our founding principles of working together wherever possible and working on the excellent work of the Energy Efficiency group which evolved out of the branch look to see if there are any other areas that could benefit from a more focused approach. 

I also believe that in these times of increased workloads and challenges with driving the sustainability agenda forward that we can learn from our colleagues in the FE sector and will aim to increase our FE membership to the group.

Group ojectives

Reduce travel to meetings by increasing video conferencing and telephone conferencing for pre-meetings	*At least 1 meeting a year done by video conferencing clusters *At least 2 Pre-meetings a year done by teleconferencing	October 2012
All members to sign up to Welsh Sustainable Development Charter	Identify who has already signed encourage other members to sign up	October 2012
Increase academic presence and themes of meetings	*At least 1 theme a year to cover academic/research from Institutions *Encourage regular attendance of academics	October 2012
