Biodiversity

Given the busy agenda of Estates and Environmental Managers at colleges and universities, it is easy to see why conservation can get dropped from the priority list. Yet, in reality, the Further and Higher Education sector has huge potential to make a national difference to the conservation of our biodiversity resources. Much is to be gained by creating and maintaining healthy campus biodiversity. Today, more than ever, we are dependant for our sustenance, health, well-being and enjoyment of life on fundamental biological systems and processes. As seats of learning for life, our universities and colleges must pioneer a new appreciation of our co-dependence.
