UNU RCE Severn has the pleasure of hosting Stefi Barna from the University of East Anglia.

Considerable work has been done over the past five years to frame health as a sustainability concern in HE. A year-long consultation involving UK medical schools, medical Royal Colleges, post-graduate deaneries and medical organisations has resulted in three simple learning objectives which serve to communicate the role that health students should take in bringing about a more environmentally and socially sustainable world.

Framing education for sustainability as a health issue across HE also has advantages for teaching in other disciplines. This seminar will explore the ways in which these learning objectives can be embedded into health curricula without adding to the curricular load, and what lessons may be transferable to other academic disciplines.
