Save the date - find out what re-use and repair opportunities are available during 2014/15 ZWS programme.

You are invited to attend a free Zero Waste Scotland seminar exploring the exciting opportunities around our upcoming programme of re-use and repair projects.

Who should attend?
Local authority waste managers, waste management contractors, compliance schemes and re-use organisations from across the commercial, charity and third sectors.

Why you should attend
Re-use and repair is a huge opportunity for Scotland’s local authorities, third sector organisations and charities. Thousands of tonnes of items are sent to landfill each year that councils have to pay to pick up and dispose of, when they could be generating income for the community, creating jobs and reducing Scotland’s carbon footprint by being re-used, repaired and given a second life.  This seminar will give you all the information you need about the opportunities available to start harnessing the potential of re-usable items, whether you’re a local authority looking to reduce costs or a re-use organisation looking to grow and develop your business.

What the seminar will cover
•         Creating community re-use and repair hubs
•         New funding for re-use hubs at HWRCs
•         The Revolve quality standard for re-use shops
•         How to benefit from the National Re-use Phoneline
•         A new repair training programme to get Scotland fixing things again
•         New funding for third sector organisations to increase re-use
•         Communications Strategy for Re-use
