Sustainability in the Curriculum Project

Embedding sustainability into the curriculum may be challenging to do, which is why the EAUC Scotland office are providing curriculum guides to help aid teaching professionals with integrating sustainability concepts into different subjects – Economics and Computer Science (IT).

These guides are intended to be a first step to help generate ideas of how sustainability relates to each subject area. We include examples of key concepts that integrate sustainability into the different subjects that can be used for teaching purposes as well as provide some suggestions as to how you might embed them into your courses.

The concepts and curriculum ideas in these guides are aligned with and support the aims of economic and computer science degree programmes as determined by the QAA Subject Benchmark Statements for each subject. The Economics and Sustainability Guide is also aimed at encouraging alternative perspectives to teaching economics and promotes the changes recommended by Rethinking Economics.
