LiFE Framework: Procurement and Supplier Engagement
EAUC Competency Level: Starting Out/On the Road (what does this mean?)

The HE sector is experimenting with different forms of socially responsible public procurement. New initiatives are emerging. How can we go beyond Fairtrade as a sector to improve the labour rights and poverty implications of our procurement?

Why should I attend?
• I want to know more about best practice from around Europe.
• I want to make our procurement spending make a difference to lives in our supply chain but I don't know how to start.
• I am progressing on the socially responsible procurement agenda and I want to share what my institution has done.
• I want to know more about new initiatives to improve social responsibilty in public procurement, such as APUC's Sustain database or Electronics Watch.
• I want to make better use of collaboration across the sector on SRPP

Agenda
1. SRPP best practice from around Europe.
2. The case for collaborating across the sector and across the public sector.
3. Two case studies of successful collaboration - APUC Sustain project, and Electronics Watch and how universities and colleges can get involved.
4. What partners are doing on SRPP, and what lessons they've learned.
