**The Role:**
The University of Cambridge is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to join the University's Estates Operation Team as its Building Energy Manager.

This is a key role for delivering against the University's commitment to reduce energy-related emissions from its operational estate to absolute zero by 2048. The role holder will identify opportunities to integrate energy and carbon reduction initiatives into the Estate Division's planned maintenance programme, ranging from energy efficiency projects, initiatives that reduce the University's use of gas, and opportunities to increase the amount of renewable energy generated by on-site renewables.

Equally, the role leads on identifying opportunities to reduce the University's use of water as part of or alongside the planned maintenance programme.

**About You:**
In order to succeed in this role, you will join us with:
- Substantial experience in identifying and implementing a range of energy and carbon
   reduction projects in a variety of buildings and settings.
- Experience of monitoring and reporting the performance of energy/ carbon/ water
   reduction projects.
- Experience of engaging and working effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Extensive technical knowledge of energy and carbon management and reduction.
- Extensive in depth knowledge of developing legislation and policy relating to energy,
   carbon and water management and reduction.
- Confident with good inter-personal skills when dealing with internal and external
   contacts.
- Substantial knowledge of energy management techniques and building services including latest industry and technology trends.
- Technical knowledge of water management and reduction.
