About
The project “Extension, Active Interdisciplinary Education, and Sustainability” aims to promote socio-environmental awareness and sustainable improvements in schools and their surroundings. It integrates knowledge from Geography, Biology, and Mathematics in the analysis of local issues such as waste, pollution, water resources, sanitation, and quality of life. Based on active methodologies and interdisciplinarity, it involves students, teachers, and the community in activities such as socio-environmental diagnosis, data collection and analysis, map production, and the development of sustainable proposals. The actions include workshops, fieldwork, debates, and the production of educational materials. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 6, and 11), the project seeks to foster critical thinking, student protagonism, and social responsibility. It also includes community actions, such as sustainability task forces, encouraging recycling, composting, and the conscious use of resources. With a participatory and low-cost approach, the project has a high potential for replication in other schools and communities, contributing to citizenship education and sustainable development.
