About
Bangladesh’s ready-made garment sector generates over $35 billion in exports but faces a critical ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) skills shortage. 80% of factories lack implementation capacity, 70% of professionals report no formal training, and fewer than 50 certified energy auditors operate nationwide. As global buyers mandate GRI and ESRS compliance, this gap threatens national export competitiveness. Daffodil International University’s Sustainability Wing, partnered with Swisscontact’s PROGRESS initiative, launched the country’s first postgraduate diploma in Sustainable Business and ESG Management to close it. Co-designed with findustry leaders and compliance officers, the hybrid program replaces abstract theory with live energy audits, decarbonization exercises, and sustainability reporting on real production lines. Delivered through DIU’s Blended Learning Center and GoEdu platform, it meets working professionals where they operate, allowing immediate application of new competencies. Graduates now translate
classroom tools into measurable energy savings, audit-ready documentation, and factory-level environment and climate strategies.
