About
The Report demonstrates how transparent sustainability reporting can drive measurable environmental and social impact across the university community. The report highlights significant reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions through targeted efficiency initiatives, including a Christmas shutdown campaign. Biodiversity projects, expanded EV charging infrastructure, zero waste to landfill, and increased solar energy generation reflect the University’s commitment to Net Zero. Student wellbeing and inclusion are central themes, with subsidised meals, free sanitary products and food waste reduction schemes supporting a more sustainable and equitable campus experience. The report also showcases strong stakeholder engagement through recognised environmental management systems, including EcoCampus Platinum and ISO14001 certification. External recognition, including high rankings in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings regarding SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, demonstrates the report’s effectiveness in communicating sustainability progress, influencing behaviour change, and embedding sustainability across campus culture and operations.
