About
Trinity recognises the urgent climate action required to reach our national and international climate targets. Our Sustainability Strategy outlines our climate action targets: 51% GHG reduction by 2030, Nature Positive by 2030, Healthy Campus by 2030, Net Zero by 2040 with 260 actions to meet them. Our Carbon Footprint Report provides baseline and gap-to-target data, and our Climate Action Roadmaps support the delivery of those actions. We understand the challenges, but we also know that investment in mitigation and adaptation solutions will yield results. This includes retrofitting, technical improvements, smarter processes, space utilisation optimisation, energy and lab management, and organisational training. Trinity has invested teams to manage these plans, with expertise in decarbonisation, travel, research, ESD, ESG, biodiversity, communications and engagement. Achieving scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions targets will require a coherent whole-of-university approach and inspiring behaviour change. Below we outline Trinity’s initiatives and structures to achieve that.

To win a Green Gown Award would be a wonderful recognition of Trinity’s continued whole-of-college commitment to genuine climate action. We believe it would help to boost our reputation within our college and wider community, along with prospective students, staff, funders, and partners who align with our environmental protection, social responsibility, and climate action values.
