About
Students from RNN Group have played a leading role in delivering positive environmental and social impact through the sustainable re-development of the lake and its’ café. As part of the project students actively participated in litter picking initiatives, habitat restoration, and improving the surrounding natural environment thus helping to create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming community space for visitors and local residents. The project focused on energy efficiency and responsible resource use with students contributing practical solutions to reduce waste, improve sustainability, and maximise use of existing materials throughout the lake grounds and café redevelopment process. Combining environmental action with hands-on learning has empowered students to develop valuable skills in sustainability, teamwork, and community engagement. The Manvers Lake project demonstrates how education can directly benefit society by encouraging environmental stewardship, supporting local wellbeing, and inspiring young people to take an active role in creating a more sustainable future.

What would it mean to win
It would mean that we could further grow and start a change in Rotherham whereby there is limited progressive change opportunities. This would showcase that links with community work and that every little does make a huge difference
