Promoting Equity and Inclusion through Livelihood Support: Alpha TUF Welfare Society Initiatives

Finalist, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Sustainability

About

The Alpha TUF Welfare Society at The University of Faisalabad has initiated the second phase of its Khud Mukhtar Program, focusing on empowering underprivileged individuals through sustainable livelihood support. In the first phase, the program provided sewing machines to widows, enabling them to generate income and achieve financial independence. Building on this success, the second phase has introduced a fully stocked fruit cart for a deserving individual who was living hand-to-mouth, unemployed, and supporting five children. This initiative not only provides a steady source of income but also promotes social inclusion and equity, ensuring that marginalized members of the community can participate in economic activities. By offering practical tools and support, the program aligns with the principles of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in Sustainability, creating long-term benefits for individuals and their families. These efforts reflect the university’s commitment to fostering community well-being and sustainable development.
