Power Up Your Potential Supercharges Sustainable Students

Finalist, Next Generation Learning and Skills

About

Power Up Your Potential is NWSLC’s Skill Guarantee which recognises students for their wider learning and skills development at college, in addition to their courses and vocational learning. It recognises students’ achievements in five areas, including Citizenship and Sustainability, where they can earn awards for demonstrating they have developed skills connected with ‘Environmental Responsibility’ and ‘Climate Change and Action’. NWSLC selected Citizenship and Sustainability as a key area after its employer partners identified gaps in sustainability knowledge in the workplace which they wanted to be addressed through the provision of additional training. NWSLC has provided additional training to enable all curriculum areas to pinpoint what sustainability excellence looks like which has enabled them to help students to expand their green knowledge, take part in sustainable activities and develop sustainable working practices that are helping them to begin their journey to reaching industrial and international sustainability benchmarks in their chosen careers.
