Finalist, Next Generation Learning and Skills Finalist, Next Generation Learning and Skills

About

The Equine Carbon Calculator has been developed and implemented nationwide to drive transformational change in sustainable practice management across the equestrian sector.  This free resource is accessible to small, medium, and large establishments, as well as colleges and universities throughout the United Kingdom.  This resource enables organisations to accurately quantify, monitor, and track own their carbon emissions, while receiving tailored environmental insights based on their data submissions comparative to similar establishments regionally and nationally.

These bespoke insights can be analysed across demographic locations into specific regions throughout the United Kingdom, helping to identify future key opportunities to raise awareness and educate through sustainable actions within local communities, educational institutions, alongside industry employers.  Developed in collaboration with leading industry specialists and reputable partner organisations, the calculator aims to empower a united data driven analysis for a sustainable approach to equine and land management.  By supporting the reduction of the equestrian sector’s carbon footprint across the United Kingdom, the Equine Carbon Calculator has the potential to make a significant contribution towards achieving the Government’s Net Zero 2050 targets while fostering long-term environmental responsibility within the industry; whilst simultaneously aligning with the novel Farm Calculator.
