The Sustainability Leadership Scorecard (SLS) is an online platform that allows you to assess your institution’s sustainability performance and progress.
It is free to use for member institutions of EAUC and/or AUDE (the Association of University Directors of Estates).
Looking to update your scores? Log in hereThe Sustainability Leadership Scorecard is an online platform which you can use to analyse, track and better understand your institution's sustainability progress.
It can help you to:
Self-assess and visualise your institution’s sustainability performance
Benchmark your work, set targets and monitor progress over time in alignment with your sustainability plans
Start and support conversations about sustainability across your institution
Track alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals
Inform and influence senior teams
The platform is free to use for post-16 education institutions in the UK and the Republic of Ireland who are members of EAUC and/or AUDE.
If your institution is outside of the UK and the Republic of Ireland, you can still use the platform for an annual fee of $150.
Please note access is currently limited to institutions. We're unable to grant access to organisations such as sector bodies.
If you are not sure whether your institution is eligible or to explore access options, please email us.
Participating institutions are invited to assess themselves in 18 key sustainability areas using a scale from 0 to 4, with 4 representing good practice.
You can score all areas and frameworks, or focus only on the ones that are most relevant to your organisation.
Once logged into the online platform, you have full control to:
Add and update your scores
Set your own targets
Compare your progress against peer groups, by region or institution type over time
Export summary reports to PDF
You can link multiple individual logins to each institutional account. For more instructions on how to use the online platform, please refer to the Sustainability Leadership Scorecard user guide.
Every other year, we work with AUDE to collate the data in a joint report to provide an overview of sustainability performance across post-16 education in the UK and Ireland.
In partnership with SUMS Consulting, we offer an independent verification service to support institutions using the Sustainability Leadership Scorecard.
Wherever you are in your sustainability journey, this service helps build confidence in your SLS scores, identify opportunities to maximise impact, and demonstrate credibility to internal and external audiences.
This can be tailored to your needs as an institution but could include:
Review and validation of your scores to ensure they are accurate, consistent and supported by robust evidence
Engagement with key stakeholders through targeted interviews to build a fuller picture of performance
Gap analysis against sector-leading sustainability practice
Actionable recommendations to support continuous improvement
A concise final report and/or presentation summarising findings, reflections and next steps
