Adopted by the United Nations (UN) in 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a global framework for ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring everyone enjoys prosperity by 2030.
The Accord brings the higher education and TVET sector together to:
Adopt a whole-institution approach to embedding the SDGs
Champion education’s unique role in leading progress on the SDGs and driving wider systems change
Commit institutions to action and accountability, including reporting annually on progress
Share learning and resources to inspire continued momentum towards 2030
The SDG Accord is delivered by EAUC with support from the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN), the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
The SDG Accord is a free global initiative. It can be signed by:
Institutions in the higher education and/or TVET sector. This includes universities, colleges, TVET centres and adult education providers
Related sector support organisations – such as associations or networks – who commit to supporting their networks and members to embed the SDGs
The commitment needs to be made by the highest authority (such as a vice-chancellor, president or chief executive) on behalf of the whole institution.

If your institution has already signed the Accord, read about the latest reporting requirements and make sure your contact details are up-to-date.
