Created in collaboration with Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC), the Guide to the APUC Scope 3 Supply Chain Emissions Reporting Tool aims to enable Scottish institutions and UKUPC-affiliated institutions to identify their scope 3 supply chain emissions swiftly and simply.

For Scottish institutions, the guide also supports your college or university to fulfil Scottish Government and Scottish Funding Council expectations within Public Bodies Climate Change Duties reporting.

The guide is of relevance to both sustainability and procurement leads within institutions.

Key features of the guide include:

  • Summary of the Scottish college and university context for reporting scope 3 supply chain emissions, in line with Scottish Government and Scottish Funding Council expectations.
  • Overview of the APUC Scope 3 Supply Chain Emissions Tool and how this relates to and differentiates from the HESCET Tool.
  • Step-by-step guide to using the APUC Tool for calculating institutional scope 3 supply chain emissions, including removing double-counting and relevance to Scottish and UKUPC-affiliated institutions.
  • Step-by-step guide to inputting the emissions data within Scottish Public Bodies Climate Change Duties (PBCCD) reporting and further sustainable procurement actions.
  • FAQs and troubleshooting commentary.
  • Appendix detailing further usability of the APUC Tool.

Note: the APUC Tool satisfies the requirements for PBCCD reporting, HESA 11 categories response and Estates Management Report returns.
