Purpose and audience
These briefing papers aim to provide Scottish colleges, universities and sector stakeholders with a summary of key aspects of the public bodies climate change duties: statutory guidance and how these relate to the sector.
In addition to the general briefing, we have also developed a senior leader briefing document focusing on leadership and governance.
We envision this resource to be used primarily by:
- Sustainability leads

How to use this resource
Whilst the briefing papers summarise key aspects from the statutory guidance, institutions should view them only as a reference point and not as a replacement to the statutory guidance itself. The statutory guidance provides a strong level of operational detail, including signposting to relevant resources for public body. We strongly recommend all institutions to familiarise themselves with the statutory guidance.
