In their 6th year the Awards recognised the exceptional initiatives being undertaken by higher and further education institutions across the UK to become more sustainable. The awards had a variety of categories in which universities and colleges could illustrate their achievements, in both academia and estates management. With sustainability moving up the global agenda, the Awards have become established as the most prestigious recognition of sustainability excellence within the further and higher education sectors, as well as the environmental sector.
