Secure your place nowOccurring just once every 18 months, this is a unique opportunity to connect with sector colleagues, learn about the latest drivers shaping sustainability in our sector and be inspired by action already taking place.
With the Scottish Government soon to publish updated statutory guidance for public bodies on the Climate Change (Scotland) Duties, this conference will help us adapt to a new context and identify opportunities to get ahead of the curve.
Alongside dedicated workshops exploring what the statutory guidance update means for your institution, we will deliver ESD-focused sessions for teaching and learning staff, as well as sessions on climate risk and adaptation, and sustainable research practices.

Meet our sponsors
Despite the need for broad coalitions for sustainability in the sector, we recognise that many of our members are facing significant financial pressures and severely limited CPD budgets.
That is why we are delighted to be able to offer a free place for any colleague who would not otherwise be able to attend when you book your ticket for the conference.
Find out more and book your placeWe know that getting approval to attend conferences can be a challenge. That’s why we have created a business case template to help you secure sign-off.
Use this template to demonstrate the huge institutional benefits of attendance, ranging from access to sector-leading expertise to networking and partnership opportunities.

The stories we tell ourselves and others are key to delivering our sustainability goals. At EAUC Scotland, we recognise that quality storytelling helps us build relationships, gain buy-in and deliver our objectives.
That is why we have made storytelling the key theme of this conference.
We will be joined by storytelling expert Karis Gill for two plenary sessions focused on storytelling for a positive impact. This is a unique and cost-effective opportunity to develop skills that are increasingly fundamental to delivering sustainability in the sector.
Learn more about our key themeAs part of EAUC Scotland's continued commitment to sustainability we will make conscious efforts to reduce the environmental and social impacts of our conference by taking the following actions:
Together with the host venue we will aim to run the EAUC Scotland conference as sustainably as possible and according to our conference ethos.
We will promote sustainability initiatives wherever possible. We will work with the catering team to follow the Sustainable Restaurant Association guidelines for the food we provide to the delegates.
All conference catering provided will be vegan and, wherever possible, locally sourced.
We use an interactive website to help minimise conference literature.
Where practical, we will further reduce the use of paper and printing connected to the conference by putting marketing materials and registration online.
EAUC are offsetting carbon emissions from the activities related to the conference including venue use, catering and staff travel.
Any materials which need to be printed, will be printed on 100% recycled paper, make use of the most sustainable printing techniques and be printed back-to-back wherever possible.
All conference correspondence to delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and speakers will, where practicable, be sent via email and available on our website to minimise waste.
Pens and paper will not be provided to delegates to encourage the re-use of both paper and pens. Delegates should bring notepads made from scrap paper.
Recycling points will be available around the venue and we ask delegates to ensure that they return their badges and any unwanted materials so we can reuse and recycle these items.
Exhibitors will be encouraged to use recycled paper for their marketing purposes and we will ask them to consider the environmental impact of any promotional giveaway items.
We encourage delegates to use public transport to attend.
All catering will be served using non-disposable crockery and cutlery. We avoid using bottled water where possible and tap water in jugs will be available to delegates.
The EAUC promotes the use of seasonal food and local food suppliers.
We aim to increase the well-being of our delegates by providing plenty of fruit, water and healthy energising snacks.
We welcome ideas or suggestions of how we can improve our conference sustainability ethos, so please do contact us if you have any contributions.
