Wayne truly embodies the spirit of a “Caretaker who Cares.” He is deeply committed to the environment, as well as to supporting his colleagues, students, the wider community, and the planet. Since joining the College Sustainability Focus Group 18 months ago, he has consistently gone above and beyond to champion sustainable practices across the college.
Wayne has played a key role in numerous sustainability initiatives, often delivering impactful projects using existing resources—demonstrating remarkable creativity and a talent for upcycling. His enthusiasm is infectious, inspiring those around him to get involved and make a difference. He is particularly passionate about helping students develop valuable life skills and a stronger connection to sustainability. To enhance his impact, Wayne has gained a qualification in his own time, enabling him to deliver practical learning opportunities tailored to SEND learners. Through his actions, Wayne not only enhances the college environment but also empowers others.
