About
I arrived at the University of Salford in January 2025 as an international student with no sustainability network, no committee and no established community to inherit. What I did have was an unwavering belief that sustainability becomes meaningful when people feel empowered to lead it. I rebuilt the dormant Sustainability Society into an active and inclusive community, represented the University at national and international sustainability platforms, contributed to institutional climate adaptation planning, championed Education for Sustainable Development, and inspired hundreds of students and young people to engage with sustainability. Alongside studying my Master's degree, working as a Student Ambassador and Youth Worker, I volunteered hundreds of hours because I believe sustainability is about creating opportunities for others. My greatest achievement is not the recognition I have received, but the community that now exists because students realised that sustainability is something they can lead, shape and own.
