About
Harris Tweed Reimagined Fashion is a large-scale, cross-disciplinary learning initiative involving 97 second-year students across the Fashion and Textiles department at Glasgow Clyde College, to create garments using Harris Tweed. The project was inspired when the Harris Tweed Authority donated 100 meters of Harris Tweed cloth and returned garments originally created by our fashion students more than twenty years ago. This unique moment of institutional heritage sparked an ambitious sustainability-focused project that asked students to reimagine these garments and the iconic fabric for a contemporary audience.

- We feel collaborative learning simulating industry is crucial to current educational experience for learners.
- We feel sustainable practises to fully educate leaners must be imbedded within all courses in a creative and understandable way.
- We feel that our industry experience as educators and a strong team was crucial this project to have been so successful.
What it would mean to win
We would be delighted to win a Green Gown Award as it would raise the profile of Glasgow Clyde College as a champion of sustainability.
