Giada Franzolini and Ethan Levins

Finalist, Sustainability Champion - Student Finalist

About

In September 2024, Enactus TU Dublin had one member: Ethan. He recruited Giada, and together they rebuilt the society from scratch into a multi-venture social enterprise programme. When fellow student Bohdan's food-pantry project ReFridge hit its limits, they mentored him through a pivot, and they co-founded BiaBox rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to families as free food bags. As Chairperson and founder-strategist, Ethan also founded S'port for Grief from his own experience of losing his father at 16, equipping sports communities to support bereaved young people. As Vice Chair and operator-mobiliser, Giada led BiaBox's delivery chain - volunteers, food safety, schools and families. Their complementary leadership turned a one-day outreach into a weekly service and a personal loss into a national conversation. In 2025/26: 200+ direct beneficiaries, 15 partner organisations, 13,000+ reached, 660 kg of food rescued — all voluntary, alongside final-year study.

Top 3 learnings

  1. Everyone has a strength and a place; our job as leaders is to nourish it.
  2. We learned you don't need to be ready to start - growth lives outside comfort zones.
  3. We learned honesty and vulnerability earns people’s trust better than any title or plan.

What it means to win

Winning this award is a deeply meaningful recognition of what can happen when students care enough to act, lead and support one another. It reflects the trust of the communities we’ve worked with and the collective belief that change is possible. It strengthens our commitment to keep creating spaces where people feel seen, supported and empowered to shape a more sustainable future.
