About
Trinity College Dublin has developed its inaugural Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, establishing a transparent, institutional-wide framework to embed sustainability across all core activities. The report sets a clear baseline for measuring and communicating performance, impact , and progress, and has undergone independent third-part validation to ensure accuracy, credibility, and accountability.
Aligned with Sustainability Leadership Scorecard (SLS), the framework incorporates 18 recognised standards, alongside a dedicated Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) framework, the mapping to the UN Sustainable Development Gals (SDGs). This enables benchmarking, continuous improvement, and informed decision-making.
Extending beyond traditional ESG metrics, the report captures impact across Teaching and Learning, Research, and Student Engagement. Developed through across-university collaboration, it provides actionable insights and drives behavioural change, identifying priority areas for improvement and positioning Trinity as a leader in sustainable higher education.
