About
North East Scotland College (NESCol) is delivering a next-generation, end-to-end skills pipeline to support the transition to a low-carbon energy future. At its core is the Energy Transition Skills Hub (ETSH), a state-of-the-art facility providing industry-aligned training in welding, engineering, advanced manufacturing and emerging low-carbon technologies. Developed in partnership with industry and government, the Hub equips learners with the skills required for evolving sectors including offshore wind, hydrogen and carbon capture.
Extending this impact, the ‘Energy on the Move’ hydrogen dual-fuel mobile classroom delivers interactive energy transition-related engagement directly into schools and communities, widening access and inspiring future talent. Since launch, it has engaged over 2,000 pupils across North East Scotland.
Together, these initiatives form a coordinated, partnership-led model that aligns education with regional economic strategy, supports a just transition and positions NESCol as a key driver of sustainable skills development and innovation.
