About
The Climate University is a network of 29 higher education institutions (HEIs) in Finland that is focusing on educating the competencies the society needs for a sustainability transition. Partners of the network have co-produced a total of 14 online courses which partner institutions can teach as part of their HE curricula. The courses concern topics as climate change, sustainability, biodiversity, circular economy, planetary health, and sustainable consumption. The multi- and interdisciplinary Climate University courses are designed for online education and are suitable for learners from different backgrounds. The course materials are open access to all on the DigiCampus online platform, and they are CC-BY licensed. Students have the possibility to cross-study Climate University courses at network partner HEIs, making the Climate University courses accessible to more than 300 000 degree students. The network supports HEI teachers for example by bringing them together annually to workshop climate and sustainability education.
