About
"Beyond the Pill" marks a deliberate shift from rote pharmacology toward whole-person pharmacy practice — moving students beyond drug facts into clinical reasoning, environmental responsibility, and community care. Since 2016, Medicinal Chemistry teaching has transformed from lecture-based instruction into a co-created learning ecosystem integrating dialogue theatre, case-based learning, and intergenerational game-based learning. Students design, test, refine, and transfer activities to subsequent cohorts, building learner agency and adaptability. Between 2016 and 2025, 968 students participated directly. Evidence across cohorts demonstrates significant learning improvement (p < 0.05), high satisfaction (4.14–4.69/5), strong collaboration (4.68/5), engagement (4.51/5), and improved pass rates for at-risk students (83.72%). This initiative redesigns pharmacy education as a long-term, adaptive system embedding Inner Development Goals — Being, Thinking, Relating, and Acting — alongside future-ready skills essential for sustainable healthcare systems.
