About
Anya Hart Dyke and Sonja Potjewijd co-lead Transition University of St Andrews’ Reuse, Repair & Skillshare programme. They have transformed and expanded the organisation’s activities through partnerships spanning schools, charities, community groups, businesses, university departments and local residents across Fife. Their collaborative leadership has helped develop St AndReuse into one of the UK’s most ambitious university-led reuse and repair programmes, strengthening links between the University and the wider community while promoting participation in the circular economy.
Their work is exceptional for its scale and reach, connecting university halls, schools, nurseries, hospitals, NHS support workers, foodbanks, libraries, seasonal farm workers, volunteers and community organisations through practical sustainability initiatives. By building lasting infrastructure, including a network of Reuse Stations, and embedding reuse, repair and skillsharing into everyday life, they have created enduring behavioural change – reducing waste, strengthening community resilience, increasing access to shared resources and fostering collective action across Fife.
