Energy Analyst - Estates Fixed Term - University of Birmingham

The university is seeking an individual with excellent analytic abilities and knowledge of the utility industry and energy markets to underpin energy management and our approach to decarbonisation.

You will be able to carry out the full range of duties of this post, focusing on managing and improving the systems to collect data and transform it to information.  This includes validating and where necessary challenging invoices, managing suppliers, producing forecast to optimise energy demands / generation, producing and reporting on budgets and overall energy / carbon performance including for our carbon footprint and managing schemes such as the UK Emissions Trading Scheme.

You will work closely with other members of the Estates Office, especially the other Energy Analyst, sustainability staff, members of the Finance Office, budget holders across the campus, external advisors and sustainability staff.  You will feed into budget meetings, energy price risk management committees and sustainability working groups.

In addition to your technical knowledge and analytical abilities you will have the interpersonal skills required to bring about changes to working practices, usage polices and engage others in best practice.
