Waste and Recycling Supervisor - University of Warwick

The challenge

As Waste & Recycling Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in caring for the 290-hectare campus, making it a great place to learn, live, work and visit. You’ll ensure that an efficient and compliant service is provided for the collection, removal and recycling of university waste. Your focus will be on monitoring the day-to-day activities of the Waste & Recycling team and ensuring the university comply with all legal, regulatory and administrative procedures. This includes the disposal of 3,000 tonnes of waste a year, as well as road sweeping, litter picking and graffiti removal. You will also help to ensure that fleet vehicles are used and maintained correctly.

The person

You’re likely to have experience of dealing with general waste management, including recycling initiatives, in a large public or private sector organisation. A good knowledge of waste legislation and relevant health and safety regulations is essential for the role. You will be an effective communicator, able to prioritise tasks and workloads and you’ll be capable of supervising a small team.
