Five training courses have been developed to support the sustainable procurement project. There is no need to be a project partner to take advantage of the training. Courses can be delivered at your institution or periodically run on an open basis.

Developing a Sustainable Procurement Policy & Strategy

A half-day course covering good sustainable procurement policy and strategy which will help you develop a plan to move your institution forward.

Social Issues in Procurement

A half-day course designed to give participants an understanding of social issues, using examples of good practice. Participants will also have the opportunity to identify ways of integrating social issues into their own procurement practices.

Supplier Engagement

This half-day course will give participants the chance to share ideas on supplier engagement, hear about good practice, understand the benefits of engaging suppliers and identify opportunities to engage your suppliers. You will also be introduced to the concept of risk-based procurement practices.

A Risk-Based Approach to Sustainable Procurement

This half-day course covers examples of good practice and discusses the latest guidance. Participants will practice implementing a risk-based approach and will be able to develop a plan for implementing it in their institution.

Train the Trainer - Communicating Sustainable Procurement

A one-day course which will develop participants' understanding of what we mean by sustainable procurement and the business case for introducing sustainable procurement in your institution. You will receive support in techniques for communicating sustainable procurement to colleagues and will be introduced to the latest guidance materials and support on implementing sustainable procurement.
