Our Tool: The Plan Vert-Green Plan

“Our two organizations, which gather all Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in France (2.5 million students), launched the Green Plan in 2009 in collaboration with the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy. This self-assessment tool is currently used by 100 HEIs in France. For the past three years we have contributed to the dissemination of good practices in sustainable development at an international level. Not only were we one of the first endorsers of the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative during the Rio +20 Conference, we have also been working with organizations which have created similar tools worldwide. Today we are delighted to launch the Platform for Sustainability Performance in Education and we are certain initiatives of this kind can truly help Higher Education become a vector of change.“   Pierre Tapie President, Conférence des Grandes Ecoles & Jean-Loup Salzmann, President, Conférence des Présidents d'Université
