The Efficiency Exchange has begun a partnership with the Guardian Higher Education Network to offer a new section for university professionals in managerial, administrative and service provision roles. The new section brings together the latest thinking, success stories and good practice, as well as news and comment from a range of professional perspectives.

The Efficiency Exchange zone promotes the modernising and smart working practices of universities as they become more efficient and effective, and thereby help to create a stronger sector. The goal is twofold: to help professionals discover and share ideas and resources via the Efficiency Exchange and its partners, and to tell higher education's 'efficiency story' for the benefit of readers within and beyond the sector.

All colleagues are invited to share in this unrivalled opportunity to reach a wider readership, expand your network and showcase your work. To find out how to contribute or participate, contact Ian Powling [email protected].

About the Efficiency Exchange
The Efficiency Exchange is dedicated to helping professionals discover and share ideas for smarter working - to enable excellence in learning, teaching and research.

• Since the Efficiency Exchange launched in February, it has published a regular stream of news, comment and resources on efficiency in higher education.
• It showcased Sarah Jackson’s report on how universities are rising to the efficiency challenge and associated case studies; this was picked up in a speech by David Willetts.
• It commissioned a study of 'Procurement as a strategic asset in higher education' and promoted a selection of case studies on procurement.
• A webcast discussion on ‘Shared services to enhance the student experience’ was made available on YouTube.
• As well as promoting guidance from HEFCE on Cost Sharing Group VAT Exemption and a new fund to develop good practice in shared services, we also supported the launch of the Higher Education Procurement Academy.

The Efficiency Exchange is provided by a partnership of Universities UK, Jisc, the Leadership Foundation and HEFCE.
