Sustainability and Environment Manager - Queen Mary University of London

This is an exciting time to join Queen Mary University as they develop their sustainability and climate strategy and action plan. You will work with teams and departments to embed sustainability into all operations, acting as an expert on environmental management, data monitoring and reporting. The Sustainability team manages our certified ISO 14001 environmental management system (EMS), which will be a key focus of this role.

As part of the Sustainability Team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of the sustainability and climate strategy and action plans, support the delivery of the staff and student Sustainability and Climate Action Network, and work with teams and departments across the university to embed sustainability into university operations.

You will ensure that Queen Mary’s work on carbon reduction is evidence led, including gathering carbon footprint data that is reflective of our operations and activities. This will require establishing a more accurate and comprehensive database in line with the sector Standardised Carbon Emissions Framework guidance.

Another key area of focus will be to work with Campus Services teams to improve the university’s approach to waste management and develop resource and waste strategies and plans.
