Whole life costing

Transforming Government Procurement was published by HM Treasury in January 2007. It sets out how the Government intends to implement sustainable procurement within its own estates, the role of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) and how it can help departments to develop the expertise to value whole life costs and benefits. Section 1.18 and 1.19 of the report, and Box 1.4 Sustainable Procurement sets out the Government’s
approach to whole life costing to ensure decisions are taken in procurement that are both good value for money and good for the environment.
