student icon Why you are important

Sustainable Development is about ensuring that development "meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." (Brundtland, 1987). Further Education can play an important role and you are a big part of that. See Why is Sustainable Development Important? for more.

You interact with students in a way that most other staff don’t. “Sustainability-literate” students are crucial as we work towards a sustainable society and you can help guide and empower students.

You can help ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to access all of the curriculum and extra-curricular events. This is not only gives students access to education for sustainable development, it also demonstrates what a just society looks and feels like.
