Addressing complex sustainability challenges requires innovative approaches and adaptive ways of working to be able to engage widely and lead effective change programmes, the Emerging Leaders Programme is designed for sustainability professionals tacking these challenges, providing leadership skills and tools to also support career development

This newly refreshed programme delivered online will help equip and revitalise early career sustainability professionals with the essential skills and knowledge they need to deliver change in their organisations. The course is appropriate for any sustainability professional whatever sector or organisation they are working in. You will gain skills, competence and knowledge about:
  • yourself, your team and organisation, and the wider context
  • develop collaborative and collegiate ways of working
  • leadership skills to lead in times of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity
  • future thinking systems and horizon scanning – focusing on challenges and opportunities post-pandemic and COP26 and beyond

OVERVIEW
Through the programme, you will gain a greater understanding of leadership practice with relevance to sustainability. Examples will be drawn from the education, not-for-profit and commercial sectors with ‘expert witnesses’ supplementing the teaching.

You will receive guidance and support on expanding your networks, both internally and externally, to deliver projects with impact. Learning from others is an essential part of the programme and sharing knowledge and ideas from the cohort is actively encouraged.

An online platform (virtual learning environment) will provide tools and guidance and resources as well as an opportunity to share learning with your peers.

The programme will be delivered virtually via Zoom.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The EAUC Emerging Leaders Programme is suitable for sustainability professionals whose role is to influence organisation-wide behaviour change. Often, they have little or no formal ‘line management’ authority and may well work at levels in the organisation where the ability to influence those at more senior levels is an important requirement. Sustainability professionals seeking to develop their careers within sustainability will find the programme helpful.

Places are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Whilst the programme has been developed by representatives from the Further and Higher Education sector, the information will be applicable to delegates from the wider public and corporate sector who we encourage to apply.
