Marketing teams are the closest people to your institution’s stakeholders and have the best idea of what stories and communication methods matter to them. It’s great for an institution to have ambitious sustainability goals, but without effective communication through mainstream channels staff and students can be left unaware of your sustainability initiatives and progress. Collaborating with your institution’s marketing and communications team is vital to increasing engagement, widening your reach and improving interaction with your materials and information.

EAUC-Scotland is hosting a virtual training opportunity for Sustainability, Marketing, Communications and Social Media professionals who are looking to breakdown siloes and work across departments to improve sustainability communication and awareness across their institutions.

Topics will include:
  • Communication – creating a better understanding between the Sustainability and Marketing teams of how teams operate and who can offer support
  • Influencing behaviour change – increasing staff and student engagement and maximising stakeholder relationships
  • Improving sustainability marketing – considering branding and best design practices to better market reports and materials
  • Guest Speaker – Sarah Ford-Hutchinson, Communication Manager, Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability, University of Edinburgh
Book with a buddy – in order to get the most from this training it would be beneficial to have a fellow staff member from your institution’s Marketing or Communications Team join the training as well. (Please book separately so we can communicate with all attendees directly)

We want you to get the most out of this training – to use it as a chance to make that inter-departmental connection, have a set time to discuss the topic of marketing sustainability at your institution from different perspectives, and to create a collaborative plan for action and continued engagement across teams.

Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions or require assistance booking your place.
