The Sustainable Development Youth Action Forum 2017 will be organized by New Diplomacy Centre and MUNPlanet from 6-9 April 2017 in Belgrade, Serbia.
We live in an age of sustainable development, and are together at a critical juncture. Following the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2015) and the Sustainable Development Goals Report (2016) by the United Nations, the global community is now building the momentum for the SDGs to succeed.
The NewDiplo Centre and MUNPlanet share this vision and invite you to join this global movement that inspires innovative thinking and practices aimed at putting the sustainable development into action at all levels by 2030.
The Sustainable Development Youth Action Forum 2017 will address the Global Goals and the ways to make sustainable development an integral part of our thinking, doing, and actions – with a goal of inspiring leadership for change and innovative solutions among global youth in addressing the key economic, social, and environmental challenges. We believe in the importance of connecting the global goals and local actions by bringing together youth leaders, thinkers, activists, and professionals to exchange views and share knowledge and practices about translating SDGs into concrete actions that can help in shaping and moving the communities to “live” the Global Goals.
Through specially tailored committees and panels, innovative working groups, and guest lectures the participants will engage with topics related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, such as ending poverty, human rights, education, employment, environment, inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, peace and justice, among others. Given the motto of the conference, “What we can do together”, the participants will look for innovative proposals and solutions that address local, national, and global concerns and consider the ways of their common actions.
SDYAF is designed to bring together governmental entities, media agencies, public administrations, religious institutions, universities, civil society, NGOs and of course, youth.
SDYAF AIM: To provide a platform for youth as future leaders of the world that allows engaging in the discussion regarding the most pressing challenges that the world is facing.
SDYAF MISSION: To bring ether the brightest students, youth activists, leaders in the society, entrepreneurs, professors and businessmen/businesswomen to start a dialogue on global challenges of today and tomorrow and to create exact actions on the ways to solve them.
