This interactive workshop is based on the laboratory experience of bodies such as:
•The Green Campus initiative of the University of Copenhagen.
•The Green Labs Program of the University of Colorado, Boulder (a campus and university that is a US leader on many sustainability topics).
•S-Lab - a UK, HE-financed, initiative to support improvement in laboratory design, management and operation.
•Other organisations attending the event, who will have an opportunity to share their own good practices.

The event will focus on three topics of central importance to sustainable laboratories; chemical and waste management; and cold storage, especially in ULT freezers.
•Creating environmental improvement cultures and networks within universities, including topics such as effective engagement with academics, students and technical staff; identifying and promoting environmental improvement opportunities and demonstrating synergies with other He objectives such as safety, cost savings, enhanced performance, and relationship building.
•More effective use of chemicals through awareness, management systems and other means, and opportunities for waste diversion.
•Cold storage, including opportunities for more sustainable procurement, effective maintenance and management, raising ULT operating temperatures and more

To encourage discussion, capacity is limited, so please apply for places quickly. The target external audience is a) energy, environmental and sustainability staff and b) staff who are already engaged with laboratory improvement activities and are interested in sharing their experience and deepening their knowledge.

Participation is free, but no-shows will be charged DKK 500
