This FREE workshop will explore the concept of sustainability at the household level, ranging across issues such as food supply, waste management, energy and water use. This will be reviewed in the context of legislation and funding opportunities. Sessions will be informal and. There will be lots of time for networking and discussion. No prior knowledge is needed. Please come along and learn how to reduce your household bills – and help save the planet!
Provisional Programme:
14.00h – 14.15h coffee/tea, registration and informal tours of the Rural Regeneration Centre - RRC (a state-of-the-art Passiv Haus design). Minibus shuttling from Tonbridge station to RRC.
14.15h Welcome and introductions – setting the scene.
14.30h Sustainability at the household level – Ian Smith
15.00h Discussion
15.15h Coffee and breakout sessions – what are the key issues to examine?
15.45h Plenary discussion session – rationalising household priorities
16.15h Opportunities and obstacles – Ian Smith
16.45h Final plenary – what points should we take away?
17.00h Workshops closes – bus transport back to Tonbridge
