Over the years, the definition of “sustainability” has adapted and evolved, and now often means many things to different people. Some see it as having a focus on environmental impacts, some social impacts and others economic impacts, and those that live, eat and breathe sustainability, a combination of all three.

To the majority of businesses, aspects of sustainability are channelled through a requirement to comply with national or international regulations or obligations, most commonly those related to climate change. Sustainability is seen as an opportunity by some and a burden by others, however many accept that it is here to stay.

The workshop will explore how to capitalise on utilising and/or implementing aspects of sustainability to help focus, drive and develop business in order to gain a competitive edge through:
  •     investigating future trends
  •     learning from the experience of others
  •     navigating the most effective course.

We are delighted that presentations will be given by Ann Durrant, Director at Anthesis (UK), David Dowson, Environmental Advisor at Skanska UK, and Tracy Clewlow, Accounting and Finance Lecturer at Staffordshire University Business School. Additionally, Dave Tovey, Environment and Risk Prevention Manager, Michelin Tyre PLC, will be delivering an exclusive sustainability presentation.
