The UNU-RCE Severn would like to invite you to a lunchtime seminar at the Park Campus, University of Gloucestershire. We are thrilled to announce the confirmation of a visit from Emeritus Professor Geoff Scott who will be sharing his expertise, knowledge and experience in Higher Education and Sustainability on the international stage. This is likely to be both insightful and innovative. Information and background to this seminar is outlined below.

Professor Geoff Scott will be presenting on his 2014 National Senior Teaching Fellowship.

The fellowship gives attention to Higher Education assessment processes which encourage the development of graduates that are ‘work ready plus’. It reviews initiatives that develop capability to implement positive social change and support the development of the sustainability literate, change implementation savvy, inventive graduates who also have a considered position on the tacit assumptions driving the 21st century development agenda.

Geoff's work over the years has focused on developments taking place to ensure graduate outcomes are giving focus to the knowledge, values, skills and mindsets that most count for the coming changes and pressures of the 21st century. His visit to the UK aims to explore academic quality enhancement and the assurance of achievement standards in HE with a view to developing an international network in this area.

Geoff has considerable expertise in HE and Sustainability. From 2004 – 2012 he was Pro-Vice Chancellor (quality) and Professor of Higher Education as well as Executive Director of Sustainability and Professor of Higher Education at UWS. Prof Scott has also led the UWS Sustainability initiative and established RCE- Greater Western Sydney; he is a member of the Advisory Council of the Sustainable Futures Academy in Salzburg and led an international study of turnaround leadership for sustainability in universities.
