The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive in Universities and Colleges is being re-run at the University of Oxford.
Does your university or college buy or dispose of electrical equipment such as IT, audio-visual, white goods or laboratory instrumentation? If so, as from 1st July, you are affected by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2006.The regulations, in certain circumstances, place responsibilities on end-users, i.e. institutions, of WEEE to be responsible for the recovery and recycling of this equipment.
You need to attend this workshop if you:
- Are responsible for waste
- Are responsible for procuring electrical and electronic equipment
The workshop will:
- Provide expert advice and knowledge from a nationally experienced consultant with key sector insight and understanding
- Extract the key points of the legislation
- Highlight the risks
- Provide case studies showing how institutions are planning to tackle the issue
