Know your waste
Location: Arden House, University of Warwick, CV4 8UW
17 October 2011
This event will be hosted by Alison Fanshawe, Principal Environmental Consultant at ECUS.
This 1 day ‘Know your waste’ course is designed to give you an in-depth introduction to managing waste. It covers the impacts of waste on the environment and how it interlinks with other resource and sustainability issues, such as use of materials and climate change.
A key part of the day is to equip you with an excellent understanding of applicable waste legislation to the sector, which will ensure that you understand what you need to do to remain legally compliant.
The remainder of the day focuses on waste management, waste auditing and creating a waste management action plan that can be implemented at your institution/organisation. You'll also have an opportunity to share your experiences with other delegates.
This course is for:
- Beginners to waste management and legislation
- Changing roles (eg health and safety to environment)
- Revision for those who have not run or been involved in waste management for some time.
