SFC Functional Performance Review at Carnegie College

The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) has commissioned BRE to undertake a post occupancy evaluation (POE) of sustainable development projects at John Wheatley, Carnegie and Cumbernauld Colleges and Queen Margaret University.

The three-year study will provide the SFC with the opportunity to:

- capture information on delivery and performance of sustainable elements of major capital projects;
- establish a consistent approach on the evaluation of the sustainable elements of major capital projects;
- pilot the recently published SFC POE Guidance
- circulate the findings across the sectors to inform the design and construction of future projects.

As part of the process, BRE will produce summary reports for each institution at each stage of the process, i.e. Operational Review (3-6 months), Functional Performance Review (12-18 months) and Strategic Review (3 years). These will be disseminated to the sector in order to share lessons learned and to share examples of good and best practice in terms of sustainability and also in terms of design, construction and operation of major capital projects.

BRE has completed the Functional Performance Review at Carnegie College and their report has been published. To view the report, please open the document below.

Please contact Andrew Chamberlain if you have any questions regarding the Carnegie College report or the wider POE exercise.
