On Monday 8th March, Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA) hosted the inaugural Scottish Fair Trade Conference for colleges and universities. The event was organised by representatives from EUSA, the Scottish Fair Trade Forum, the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier University.

77 students and staff, representing 15 colleges and universities, attended the event. Keynote speakers included Harriet Lamb, Executive Director of the Fairtrade Foundation as well as a Palestinian olive oil producers. Short talks, discussion topics and workshops and stalls from local retailers of Fair Trade goods all lead to a rounded discussion on Fair Trade. Following the conference, Harriet Lamb presented to around 400 attendees at the inaugural International Women's Day talk hosted by the University of Edinburgh.
