A unique opportunity for employees of further and higher education establishments to attend this sector specific course


This five-day course is designed as a practical guide to auditing EMS and to equip delegates with the skills to take on the role of a lead auditor within their own institutions or of a lead assessor (after sufficient practical experience) for third party audits.

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for individuals who wish to carry out internal environmental management systems audits or external third party assessments

What will you learn?

By the end of the course you will be able to take on the role of a lead assessor or auditor in order to carry out third party audits. Successful completion of the course and the examination (70%) will entitle the delegate to 10 IEMA points - the equivalent to Associate environmental auditor level. The points are awarded by IEMA and this is an IEMA approved course.

By the end of the five-day course delegates will:
  • Receive an update on developments in environmental standards
  • Understand how to audit an EMS against the requirements of ISO 14001
  • Understand audit trails and audit scheduling
  • Understand Environmental Legislation
  • Be aware of EMAS requirements & validation techniques
